Terms of Service & Legal Disclaimer

KloDock — Version 1.3.0 — Last updated March 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using KloDock ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. What KloDock Is

KloDock is a free, open-source desktop application that provides a graphical interface for the OpenClaw AI agent framework. KloDock helps you install, configure, and interact with an AI agent that runs on your own computer. KloDock is not an AI provider — it connects to third-party AI services that you choose and configure.

3. License

KloDock is released under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the software subject to the terms of that license.

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS OR COPYRIGHT HOLDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

4. No Warranty

KloDock is provided without any warranty. The authors and contributors make no guarantees that:

5. AI Agent Risks and User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use KloDock and any AI agent you configure through it. By using this software, you acknowledge and accept the following:

5.1 AI Output Is Not Guaranteed

AI language models can produce responses that are incorrect, misleading, biased, offensive, or harmful. You should never rely on AI-generated output for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or life-affecting decisions without independent verification by a qualified professional.

5.2 Autonomous Agent Actions

AI agents powered by OpenClaw can read and write files, execute code, browse the web, send messages, and interact with external services. These actions are taken automatically based on the agent's interpretation of your instructions. The agent may:

You are responsible for reviewing and approving all agent actions. The authors of KloDock are not liable for any consequences of actions taken by an AI agent configured through this software.

5.3 API Costs

Cloud AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, OpenRouter) charge for API usage based on the number of tokens processed. KloDock does not monitor, limit, or control your API spending. You are solely responsible for monitoring your usage and setting spending limits with your AI provider. The cost estimates shown in KloDock (~$5-20/month) are approximate and may not reflect your actual usage.

5.4 Third-Party Skills

Skills available through the OpenClaw skill registry are created by third parties — not by the KloDock authors. KloDock displays status badges (Bundled, Published, Unlisted) that indicate where a skill comes from, not whether it has been security-audited. These badges are informational labels, not security certifications. No automated scanning, code review, or community voting process is required for any badge level. KloDock does not independently audit, verify, or guarantee the safety of any skill — including skills labeled "Bundled." You install and enable skills at your own risk.

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Local Operation

KloDock operates entirely on your local machine. The KloDock application itself does not transmit any data to any server. There is no KloDock account, no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting.

6.2 Third-Party AI Providers

When you configure a cloud AI provider, your messages are sent to that provider's servers for processing. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data handling practices. KloDock does not control, monitor, or have access to your communications with AI providers. Review your chosen provider's privacy policy before sharing sensitive information.

6.3 API Key Storage

Your API keys are stored in your operating system's native credential store (Windows DPAPI, macOS Keychain, or Linux libsecret). KloDock does not transmit your API keys anywhere. However, KloDock cannot guarantee the security of your API keys against local threats such as malware, physical access to your unlocked computer, or vulnerabilities in your operating system's credential store.

6.4 Ollama (Local AI)

When you use Ollama as your AI provider, all processing happens on your machine. No data is sent to any external service. No API key is stored or required.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors and contributors of KloDock shall not be liable for any:

This limitation applies regardless of the theory of liability (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and whether or not the authors were advised of the possibility of such damages.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the authors and contributors of KloDock from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to claims related to AI agent actions, API usage, or third-party skill behavior.

9. Third-Party Software

KloDock installs and manages the following third-party software on your behalf. By using KloDock to install these components, you agree to their respective license terms, linked directly below:

Each component has its own privacy practices and data handling policies. KloDock does not modify the behavior of these components beyond configuration. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting these licenses before use.

10. No Professional Advice

Nothing produced by an AI agent configured through KloDock constitutes professional advice of any kind — including but not limited to medical, legal, financial, tax, psychological, or engineering advice. Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions.

11. Age Requirement

KloDock is intended for users aged 18 and older. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to use this software and any connected AI services.

12. Changes to Terms

These terms may be updated with new releases of KloDock. Continued use of the software after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be noted in the release notes.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Colorado.
